The First Reader Community

What it is

The First Reader Community is the circle that forms around a book before the book is in hands: the earliest readers of the complete 130-book chronological edition. Membership is one email address. The promise is equally small and kept: updates that matter, a first look as the edition reaches milestones, and nothing noisy — no daily drip, no manufactured urgency.

What first readers actually get

A say. This journal and our Shorts ask real questions — which prophet confuses you, what a keepsake Bible must include, which lost book we open first — and the answers genuinely steer what gets built and published next. First readers are the ones whose answers are heard earliest and weigh most. A first look. Formats, page spreads, arrangement decisions, release windows — the community sees the work while it is still warm. A place in the story. Editions remember their first readers the way ships remember their first crew; being early to a serious book is a quiet honor this house intends to treat as one.

Why we build in public

Because a Bible edition asking for trust should be watchable while it earns it. The questions we ask are not engagement theater — they are the actual research program of the edition, run in the open. The community is where that exchange lives: we show the work; you shape it.
